Yes, INDABA 2009 is once again right around the corner – May 9-12. This annual event is the ideal venue to meet with existing Southern Africa suppliers, uncover new product to add to your travel offerings, and forge new business relationships.

1 The Botswana Tourism Board – North America web sites are live.

There are now two Botswana Tourism Board destination web sites specifically tailored to the North American market: one for consumers (www.botswnanatourism.us) and one for the travel trade/media (http://trade.botswnanatourism.us). Both are designed to provide the visitor with useful, easy to navigate information about Botswana, including resources and ideas for trip planning.

Are you listed? North-American based tour operators/wholesalers who specialize in Botswana travel can submit listing information by filling out the online form at http://trade.botswanatourism.us/contact2.html. Even if you are already listed, please update your listing to include details about your business, your target clientele and any special-interest travel segments in which you specialize. Update on the form, http://trade.botswanatourism.us/contact2.html. Before you submit a listings request, please remember you MUST be a NA-based tour operator/wholesaler specializing in Botswana/southern Africa travel.

Botswana Tourism Board Partners with HBO on The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Consumer Promotion.

Botswana Tourism Board is partnering with HBO on a consumer promotion for the launch of HBO’s new series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. The original series debuted on HBO on March 29th, with 7 additoinal episodes airing weekly on Sundays at 8 pm EDT. Now is the ideal time to capitalize on the BTB-HBO campaign publicity by promoting Botswana to your clients today. 1 SAA to provide additional air service into Gaborone and Maun

Just in time for the peak travel season, two new service enhancements are being offered by South African Airways into Botswana. Beginning May 1, SAA will operate morning departure, non-stop New York–Johannesburg daily service, allowing same day jet service connections from Johannesburg to Gaborone. Beginning July 1, SAA will operate new daily jet service between Johannesburg and Maun, Botswana. Both new service offerings are now available for bookings.
