Two Luxury, Eco-Friendly Lodge Camps Now Open Inside Nxai Pan National Park and CKGR.

Ever wish you could book your client into an intimate, eco-friendly lodge camp inside Nxai Pan National Park and/or Central Kalahari Game Reserve, two of Botswana’s stunningly remote and pristine wilderness areas? Now you can. Kwando Safaris recently opened Nxai Pan Camp in Nxai Pan National Park, and Tau Pan Camp in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.

Nxai Pan Camp is situated in the tree line, with 8 purpose-built desert rooms, one of which is a family room. All rooms have thatched roofs and insulation so it is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The main area consists of a dining room, lounge area and a viewing deck. The camp also has a swimming pool, library and curio shop. Guests have an outstanding view of the water hole, and breathtaking views of the vast grasslands of the Nxai Pan.

Tau Pan Camp is situated inside the world famous Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) on an established sand ridge overlooking Tau Pan, offering stunning views of the permanent Tau Pan water hole and the endless Kalahari horizon. Guests are accommodated in 8 custom-built desert rooms under thatch (one of which is a family room), while the main area consists of dining room, lounge area and a viewing deck. The camp also offers facilities such as swimming pool, interpretation centre/library and curio shop.

Both camps are completely solar powered, and were built to blend into the surrounding environment. For complete descriptions of each camp and for booking information, please visit www.kwando.com.

1 Indaba 2009 Wrap-Up: Successful Trade Show Leads to New Business Connections

Yes it’s a tough global economic environment right now – but that didn’t stop the Botswana Tourism Board (BTB) exhibitors and delegates from doing brisk business at Indaba. Although delegate attendance was slightly down from 2008, the Botswana Tourism Board stand was busy from opening day to close. BTB exhibitors were pleased with the overall quality of the delegates, many of whom were serious buyers looking for new accommodations and safari product/destinations to add to their product portfolios.

Couldn’t get to Indaba but want to make business connections with BTB suppliers? You still can – just visit this list for company and contact information by business category.
