SKL Camps Operates DWNP Campsites in Savuti, Khwai, Linyanti, and Makgadikgadi

SKL Camps operates four prime location Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP) campsites in Savuti, Khwai, Linyanti and Makgadikgadi. The services provided by SKL Camps make planning and taking a self-drive camping trip more convenient for your clients. Each campsite has its own water stand pipe and braai area, while each of the four camp areas have an ablution block with solar lights, hot and cold running showers, and flushing toilets.

Savuti, Chobe National Park:  well known for its excellent game and safari sightings throughout the year. This campsite consists of 14 camping plots, each with its own water stand pipe and braai area, and a communal area with hot and cold showers and flushing toilets.

Linyanti, Chobe National Park:  well known for its healthy population of predators.  SKL operates five camping plots in Linyanti.

Khwai, at North Gate, Moremi Game Reserve: considered one of the best game viewing areas in Botswana. Khwai campsite consists of 10 camping slots each with a direct water supply and cooking area as well as four modern communal ablution blocks.

Kumaga, Makgadikgadi National Park:  known for the great migration of zebras and wildebeests. SKL’s camp Kumaga has nine camping plots and two modern ablution block facilities.

For self-drive campers who want an elevated level of comfort and style in a public campsite, SKL also offers Camp Savuti. Located on a site overlooking the Savuti Channel, this small intimate camp accommodates a maximum of 10 guests. The pre-erected tents are placed to ensure privacy and a modest level of exclusivity, with each meru tent containing en-suite facilities and an open air shower.

What's New: Lodging and Ground Operator Updates

South African Airways and SA Airlink Offer New Service to Maun
Beginning June 15, 2012, South African Airways and SA Airlink will offer convenient connecting service to Maun – the gateway to the world-famous Okavango Delta. This new service between Johannesburg and Maun will be operated by SAA’s regional partner, SA Airlink. Travelers on SAA’s morning, non-stop flight from New York to Johannesburg will now be able to make a convenient same-day connection to Maun with an early afternoon arrival – in time to be whisked away to their first camp for a late afternoon game drive!

Okavango Guiding School Launches the Good Ship “Khekheleza”
Okavango Guiding School is proud to launch the good ship “Khekheleza”,  the local slang for ‘relaxing with friends’. This large barge takes your clients further into the deep delta and the luxury of a cozy sleep out. The Khekheleza has been designed to tow up to four mokoros, allowing your clients to take a long cruise upstream, sleep under the stars and then the following day enjoy a long, easy downstream mokoro ride back to camp, experiencing the most tranquil transport around. Guests come away with a deeper understanding of the intricacies of the ecology of the Okavango as an ecosystem, and are exposed to the surrounding communities in a very personal and tangible way. It truly is conservation through education!
