In the Know: Important Botswana Visa Application Information

Do you have clients who reside in the USA or Canada, but are citizens of a country which requires a visa for entry into Botswana? Here are three things you need to know:

  1. Citizens from countries requiring a visa for entry must apply directly through the nearest Botswana Embassy or High Commission office for a visa.
  2. The Botswana Embassy in the USA strongly advises that the applicant allow a minimum of 21 business days for application processing.
  3. Visas cannot be obtained online or at the point of entry.

For more information on the process and visa requirements, visit

NOTE:  Botswana Tourism cannot issue visas nor request they be expedited. Please allow sufficient time to work with the Botswana Embassy or consulate personnel directly on visa application processing.

Great Plains Conservation Announces New Camp
In a country known for its diamonds, Great Plains Conservation is proud to announce a new “gem” in the Selinda Reserve. Opening late August 2012, Selinda Explorers Camp is designed to cater to those clients wanting a bit of an adventure, while still enjoying the comforts of a base camp. Located on the remote banks of the Selinda Spillway, Selinda Explorers Camp has just four tents and will be a new concept camp for Botswana: an exclusive-use camp which is not chargeable per camp, but chargeable per person (up to a maximum of eight people).

Sure to sweep any client off their feet, the camp is designed in the style of the early explorers with a touch of romance, reflected through the furniture and finishes. Activities will focus mainly on walking and canoeing tours taking in the prolific wildlife of the Selinda Reserve – huge herds of buffalo and elephants, great predator sightings with lions and hyenas, as well as the rare sighting of the endangered sable and roan antelope. In balance with the wild location, the camp is ecologically sensitive and 100% solar powered.
