Okavango Expeditions is owned and managed by Clint Gielink, a 5th generation African with 15 years experience guiding and running mobile safaris in Botswana. Complementing Clint is Pieter Sollit, who brings an additional 10 years of experience in running lodges and mobile safaris in Africa to the team. With all of this expertise to draw upon, Okavango Expeditions is perfectly positioned to offer your clients a safari-of-a-lifetime, accessible to only a lucky few. These safaris are based on Clint’s own experience in the bush, with highly flexible safaris available to small groups desiring that extra special experience.  The focus of Okavango Expeditions is expert guides, selected by both their experience and their passion for Botswana, its wilderness, and its people.  Here, safaris are not only about the Big 5, but the overall experience: the smell of the campfire, the distant roar of a lion, the amazing aroma of the first rain in November, and the ever present call of the “bell frogs” in the reeds.  Book your client on one of Okavango Expeditions’ one-of-a-kind safaris.

Safari Adventure Company is thrilled to announce its entry into Botswana’s world-renowned Okavango Delta with the development of Banoka Bush Camp.  The Okavango Delta, with its waterways, floodplains, islands, and staggering wilderness areas, is the cornerstone of every safari to Botswana. SAC has won the tender for the strategically located Khwai Concession, a 450,000 acre area comprised of a wide range of habitats that ensures a diverse species composition and year-round game-viewing drives and activities.  The planned development, Banoka Bush Camp, will be located in a prime area on the southern floodplain and will consist of 10 tented units.  The 24-bed camp is scheduled to open in August 2010, perfectly timed with peak game viewing in Botswana.  Aside from the above-mentioned activities, a constructive engagement is planned with the nearby Khwai community which will expose guests to traditional rural culture and the opportunity to contribute to the interface between responsible ecotourism and adjacent rural communities.  For more information, contact info@safariadventurecompany.com, visit www.safariadventurecompany.com, or learn more here.

They all are committed to doing good work in Botswana.  Earlier this month, America’s pop star Joe Jonas and Britain’s Prince William, met each other for the first time in Maun, Botswana where both were on separate visits to support their respective charities. The pair joined forces in Botswana to attend and support a soccer event for area schoolchildren. This event is run by an innovative conservation project called Coaching For Conservation, which mixes soccer skills instruction with wildlife protection. The project is managed by the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust, and also strives to teach children self-respect and awareness of the environment around them.
