New Outdoor Bliss at Ngoma Safari Lodge
Forget the glossy brochures and the trumpeting “idyllic places” by property owners. Your clients want the real thing, right? Perched on a hilltop overlooking the floodplains and the Chobe River, Ngoma Safari Lodge offers a quiet refuge that exudes African style and absolute comfort. The already awe-inspiring views and incredible guest experience at Ngoma Safari Lodge is now even better with recent additions that keep both the guests and wildlife coming back for more.

Earlier this year, this 5-star bush property further enhanced its eight luxury suites by the addition of “refresh and relax” fresh water pools. Each suite now boasts a private pool located in their own enchanting outdoor sanctuary area. Guests can also enjoy panoramic views of the Caprivi Floodplain and Chobe River from their private heated outdoor shower. The pools have been a big hit…with the guests and wildlife! Various antelope, even elephants and lions, have been known to stroll in late at night for a drink, though guests’ safety is never compromised and security is ever-watchful.

Just In

Welcome to the Kalahari. Waist-high golden grasses seem to stretch interminably, punctuated by dwarfed trees and scrub bushes. Wide and empty pans appear as vast white stretches of saucer-flat earth, meeting a soft, blue-white sky. At night the starts utterly dominate the land; their brilliance and immediacy are totally arresting. During and shortly after good summer rains, the flat grasslands of the reserve’s northern reaches teem with wildlife. Nothing prepares your clients for the immensity of this reserve, nor its wild, mysterious beauty. There is the immediate impression of unending space, and having the entire reserve to yourself. Let your clients take advantage of all of this with Planet Wilderness; 3-night and 5-night departure dates are available at unbeatable prices. For more information, please visit the Kalahari Special page here.

Making a Difference Making a Difference

Farm-to-table anyone? Children in the Wilderness, an environmental and life skills educational program that focuses on the next generation of rural decision makers, launched its first Eco-Club at Shashe Primary School in Maun, Botswana in January 2013. A mere nine months later, this innovative program has not only made a positive impact on the 55 children who are members, but also to the broader community in Maun.

The Eco-Club follows a structured curriculum and takes place once a week during the school term. The children learn a range of skills from environmental and conservation lessons, including organic farming and recycling projects, such as making bags from old newspapers and plastic. The children have also planted and nurtured a thriving vegetable garden. The first harvest was given to the Eco-Club members and the next harvest will be used for the entire school. Teachers will buy the produce and the money raised will be used to assist the Eco-Club with further projects.

Just In

“The reason for the Eco-Club’s success is the unwavering devotion from the children and their keen interest to learn more about their environment and how to care for it. It’s an opportunity for like-minded children to meet, learn, discuss and expand their knowledge of environmental issues,” said Mary Hastag, the Children in the Wilderness Coordinator for Botswana.

We look forward to hearing more about these budding superstars and their accomplishments. Who knows... maybe today’s budding farmer will someday run a successful farm-to-table restaurant in Maun?! For more information on Children in the Wilderness, please visit
